Contemporary frames are flat, square, triangular or curved.  They are a great fit for modern art, photography and a minimalist aesthetic.

Traditional frames feature a more elaborate stepped, scooped or sloped profile pairing well with fine art paintings or antique photographs.

Ornate frames mimic that old world style seen for centuries.  Stunning golds, silvers and aged stained finishes are available embracing tradition and history.

Float mount frames are L-shaped and designed to showcase gallery-wrapped canvases allowing for a ¼” space between the canvas and the frame. These are available in depths to fit canvases of various thicknesses.

Shadowbox frames are used to frame objects such as medals, jerseys and memorabilia.  The depth of these frames allows for these special objects to be placed behind glass for protection and your enjoyment.

A typical framed piece of art includes a frame, glass, mat, artwork, backing, dust cover and hanging hardware.

Oil and acrylic paintings, not needing glass may have a fabric liner between the artwork and the frame.

Canvases are gallery wrapped canvas and framed with a simple float frame. frame.

REFRAMING
The best way to revitalize your precious art is to reframe it. FrameSource’s designers can work with you to redesign framed art that is dated or damaged. Changing the mat or frame will give your prized art a new life and, it won’t look like it came out of the 80’s. Many of our customers are very emotional when we present them with their newly reframed art.

If you have framed art and noticed that the bevelled edge has discoloured to a yellow brown, your artwork is at risk of being damaged by acid in the mat. While we cannot reverse the damage, FrameSource can replace it with an acid free mat with the added bonus of freshening up your artwork.
